Benchmark Litigation reviews MahWengKwai & Associates as follows:

“MahWengKwai & Associates was founded over three decades ago by former appellate court judge, and current firm consultant, Mah Weng Kwai. The 20 lawyer-strong firm has an active disputes practice in the areas of commercial and transactions, construction and real estate, labour and employment and white-collar crime.

The main disputes contacts are managing partner Raymond Mah, who specialises in corporate and civil litigation, appeals and arbitration, and partners Chong Chieh Gan and Christine Toh.

The firm represented Sime Darby Property as the defendant in a long-running arbitration brought by Garden Bay, a contractor it hired for a project it was working on. The client counterclaimed costs incurred when it had to engage a third party contractor to rectify outstanding item and defective works that Garden Bay failed to complete. The team is also acting in a complex dispute between Malaysian and Hong Kong shareholders involving a court-appointed accountant expert to determine the parties’ shareholding amounts.

Key clients include Amano Malaysia, Assunta Hospital, Cicet Corporation, KCSB Konsortium and Pristine Power.”

In addition, our Senior Associate, Ms Denise Phang, was acknowledged as possessing “Great drafting and reasoning” skills.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our clients for their continuous support.
